Why We Built This Site
Illinois offers several public access routes, yet each answers a different question. The Cass County Sheriff keeps sheriff-created reports and can explain where a person was transferred because Cass County has no jail. The Circuit Clerk maintains charges, docket events, and dispositions. Illinois State Police provides statewide conviction responses and the public registry, while IDOC publishes custody and supervision search tools. We gather the verified request steps, contacts, fees, and official links that connect those systems.

This is a privately run reference site, not part of an Illinois court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its limits are firm:

- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you

Only the originating office, such as the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, or Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, can issue or certify an official record.
